Garden Rejuvenation
If your garden has lost its spark, or you’re feeling unsure where to go next, our garden rejuvenation service is here to help.
Every project begins with an initial consultation — a cup of tea, a chat, and a walk through your garden. Together, we’ll develop a plan that reflects your vision, priorities, and budget, creating a garden that feels personal, beautiful, and resilient.
We only use organic, regenerative gardening practices that prioritise soil vitality, biodiversity, and habitat creation, allowing your garden to naturally restore its balance. This isn’t a quick one-off clearance, but a thoughtful, long-term process — caring for your garden as if it were our own.
What’s involved?
Our approach to garden rejuvenation and how we bring tired spaces back to life.
01.
Initial client consultation
We’ll start with a relaxed chat to understand your garden, vision, and how you’d like to use the space. Together, we’ll define your style, priorities, and budget to set a clear direction and timeline.
Afterwards, you’ll receive a written brief summarising our discussion, initial ideas, and a suggested plan for next steps.
This one-off consultation is charged at a fixed fee of £60.
02.
Site assessment
Next, we’ll assess your garden’s current condition during our first full day on-site, addressing immediate issues like overcrowded planting or invasive perennials such as bindweed and ground elder.
We’ll review sunlight, shade, soil structure, drainage, existing plants, and habitats to decide what to retain, enhance, or replace.
All findings are recorded and inform your bespoke rejuvenation plan.
03.
Preparation and clearing
This is where visible change begins. We’ll remove unwanted plants, weeds, and debris to create a clean, workable canvas. In alignment with the seasons, existing plants that are staying will be pruned, divided, or reshaped, and borders will be redefined.
04.
Soil regeneration
Healthy soil is the foundation of a thriving garden. We’ll assess its texture, structure, and pH, then enrich it with organic matter, beneficial fungi, and natural amendments to restore fertility and life.
Investing the appropriate amount of time in this preparation phase will benefit the garden in the long run, and greatly reduce ongoing maintenance.
05.
Structure and layout
Before planting, we’ll refine the garden’s framework — pathways, beds, edges, and any minor landscaping to improve flow, drainage, and access. Subtle grading or reshaping may also enhance water movement and create microhabitats.
We work alongside trusted and talented hard landscapers who can assist as needed on any structural elements.
06.
Planting
Now the garden begins to take form. We’ll introduce trees, shrubs, and perennials suited to your soil, light levels, and style, combining structure, colour, and texture for year-round interest. A mix of native and pollinator-friendly species ensures a resilient, biodiverse ecosystem that continues to evolve naturally.
07.
Habitat enhancement
We can add or restore habitat elements such as ponds, beetle banks, hibernacula, or pollinator patches. These features deepen the garden’s ecological value, supporting birds, insects, amphibians, and other wildlife while enhancing the natural feel of your space.
08.
Finishing touches
With planting complete and all elements in place, we’ll refine the details — from fresh mulch and neat borders, to garden lighting, seating, and wildlife-friendly features. These finishing elements bring the garden together, making it cohesive, inviting, and ready to enjoy.
09.
Aftercare
Once the rejuvenation is complete, we’ll stay in touch to either provide ongoing maintenance or guide you through the garden’s first few months of establishment. We can also revisit seasonally to monitor progress, adjust care routines, and ensure your garden continues to thrive naturally.
Our day rates start at £420
Our rejuvenation service can also include smaller upgrades, such as planting plans, wildlife pond enhancements, and the addition of raised beds or composting areas. Please note that plants and materials are charged separately, and any design work will incur an additional fee. We do not undertake large-scale hard landscaping, such as patios or pergolas; if these elements are required, we work closely with a very trusted contractor to manage the work.
Regenerative gardening
Def. regenerative gardening is a holistic and sustainable approach to cultivating green spaces. It prioritises soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. By mimicking natural processes, regenerative gardening seeks to rejuvenate the environment, focusing on carbon sequestration and reduced chemical inputs. It encourages practices such as no-dig gardening, cover cropping, and companion planting to create thriving, self-sustaining ecosystems.
By gardening regeneratively, we can:
Actively restore degraded soil biodiversity, leading to stronger, healthier, more beautiful plants
Rebuild the levels of organic matter within the soil (deeper soil = less carbon in our atmosphere)
Provide habitats for multiple species, resulting in a more balanced ecosystem with fewer problems
