Parker Avenue

What began as a simple front-garden rejuvenation soon evolved into a complete transformation of the client’s back garden. As a passionate gardener and wildlife enthusiast, the client longed for a place to grow vegetables, savour colour and seasonal variety, and create a welcoming environment for family gatherings on warm days.

Inspired by her love of wildlife and hands-on gardening, the design introduces naturalistic structure, warm, earthy tones and a series of gentle zones for both productivity and rest. The site’s natural slope provided the ideal setting for a wildlife pond, designed to appear long-established, with a stumpery-rockery feature and a hidden hibernaculum nestled beneath. Vertical planting on trellises brings height and subtle division, creating two softly defined areas while offering additional habitat for climbing plants and visiting insects.

Layered habitats, shady retreats and vibrant planting come together to form a richly biodiverse garden — a place to grow, to gather, and to reconnect with the natural world.

Client testimonial

"I'd definitely recommend Beorn Wilde if you're needing help with a wildlife garden. He's very knowledgeable and hardworking. Came and discussed what we needed and then came and got control of the garden before making a plan for planting and hard landscaping. I'm looking forward to working with him as my garden gradually takes shape."
